HOME Welcome! BigChess is a company based on Java island, Indonesia. We specialize in individual chess pieces and whole sets made according to client specifications. We have been in business since 1994 and began on the Internet in 1999. Less than 1 month after launching on internet, our first sets were bought by a company from England. Now we export to individuals, whole salers, hotel resorts and schools all around the world. Standard and Customized We use Teak, as it is the strongest wood in the world. Our teak chess pieces are designed by craftsmen. While we reproduce the classic Staunton look, custom pieces are available and will be carved to specifications. We can also make custom design chess pieces like : World War II soldiers, Base Ball players, Primitive men, etc. Our standard set (King stands 24" in height) is highly decorative. The stunning wood pieces combine to create a warmth and an atmosphere which no other material can duplicate. Chess pieces such as these are also a sure-fire way of attracting a crowd of curious on-lookers at the next event you may be organizing.
